List, add, update and delete records — plus upload/download files — in Zoho Creator custom applications, across every Zoho data centre.
Zoho Creator ships in the w6w first-party pack. It declares 10 actions, 2 health checks, and the host runs its code in a sandbox that never sees the credential.
io.w6w.zoho-creatorZoho Creator is a low-code platform for building custom business applications — forms, reports, workflows and dashboards a team designs without a developer. This app puts a Creator application’s own data into a workflow: discover the applications, forms, reports and fields a connection can reach, list records from a report (optionally filtered by criteria), add or update records, delete records matching a criteria, and upload/download the file stored in a record’s file/image/audio/video/signature field.
Every Creator application is addressed by a specific account-owner-name + app-link-name pair in its URL path — a single connection’s token can reach many different owners’ apps, so these are required per-action parameters rather than a fixed connection field. Run List Applications first to discover them.
Zoho hosts every account in one of nine regional data centres, each with its own OAuth accounts host and, for the API itself, the same shared www.zohoapis. gateway Zoho Books/Invoice use — not a dedicated creator.zoho. host. Canada is the one region where the OAuth accounts host breaks the naming pattern the other eight follow (accounts.zohocloud.ca, not accounts.zoho.ca); unlike this pack’s other multi-DC Zoho apps, Creator’s API host does not carry that same substitution — www.zohoapis.ca is a normal member of the family.
The legacy Deluge-script custom-functions surface, the Publish API (anonymous public form submission via a privatelink, a different auth model entirely), and the asynchronous Bulk Read API (a create-job/poll/download-zip flow for very large exports) are deliberately left out — different mechanisms, or large enough to be their own app/action pair.
Three routes to the same 10 actions. The Workflow tab is generated from Zoho Creator's own manifest and carries its real ids, so it is copy-pasteable; the Code and CLI examples are the same call for any action on any app, so every app-specific value in them is a blank you fill in.
application-list List every Zoho Creator application this connection can access, across every workspace/owner. Use the returned "workspace_name" as Account Owner Name and "link_name" as App Link Name in every other action.
field-list List every field's metadata (link name, type, mandatory/unique flags, choices, subform fields) for a form.
file-download Download the file stored in a file upload/image/audio/video/signature field of a record. Binary content is base64-encoded; text content (e.g. a plain-text file) comes back as-is — see the `base64` output.
file-upload Upload a file to a file upload/image/audio/video/signature field of an existing record.
record-add Add a record to a form. `data` is field link name -> value, e.g. { "Email": "jason@zylker.com", "Single_Line": "hi" }.
record-list List the records shown in a report's quick view, optionally filtered by criteria. Fetches at most 200 records per call — page with From/Limit for more.
record-update Update the records in a report matching a criteria. `data` is field link name -> new value, e.g. { "Status": "Closed" }.
A workflow step names the app and the action, and the editor fills in the
connection when you pick one. This is the Step shape from the
workflow spec, carrying Zoho Creator's real ids.

Every app-specific value here is a blank you have to fill in. An
app action is reached through the connection that authenticates it, so the
address is a connection id, not the app id — and connections belong to your account,
so a public page cannot know yours. Create one for Zoho Creator, then fill in
the three blanks: conn_YOUR_CONNECTION_ID, the action key, and the
parameters that action declares. The call itself is real — the shape is transcribed
from the studio's own snippet builder, which prints the same kind of blanks — but
nothing in it is specific to Zoho Creator. The Workflow tab is where this app's
real ids are.

One MCP endpoint exposes every app, function and workflow the caller is entitled to, as tools it can discover and run. Access is granted per team while we onboard.

}
}
Every tool names its target with a single ref. The
app: form above doesn't name a connection at all — the
host resolves which of the caller's Zoho Creator connections to sign
with, and refuses rather than guesses when the answer is ambiguous.
The token is attached host-side, at the moment of the call. It is never a tool argument, never in the model's context, and never in a transcript — so a prompt injection has nothing to exfiltrate.
Tools are derived per end user from what that person has actually connected and is entitled to — not one shared bot identity carrying the union of everyone's access.
Multi-step work runs on the workflow engine and returns a run handle the agent can poll — retries, branching and state survive the conversation that started them.
Zoho Creator's declared health checks are on the surface too, so an agent can tell "the vendor is down" from "your credential expired" before it burns a retry on either.
The MCP surface is part of the hosted platform. Zoho Creator itself is MIT, and the runtime that executes it is source-available (FSL).
Zoho Creator declares its own checks, so its health is a property of the app rather than something the host guesses at.
