Send messages, media and chat actions through a Telegram bot, and manage chats.
Telegram ships in the w6w first-party pack. It declares 21 actions, 2 health checks, and the host runs its code in a sandbox that never sees the credential.
io.w6w.telegramTelegram sends messages and media through a bot from a workflow — text, photos, video, audio, documents, animations, stickers and location, each as its own dedicated action rather than one generic send that has to guess at content type, plus chat actions like typing to make an automated reply feel less abrupt.
Messages can be edited, pinned, unpinned and deleted after sending, and inline-keyboard callback queries can be answered, which is what a bot needs to build an interactive flow rather than only broadcasting one-way. Chat management covers reading a chat or its member list, listing administrators, updating a group’s title or description, and leaving a chat the bot no longer needs to be in.
A fit for turning an external event into a Telegram notification, running a bot that responds to button presses, or managing group chats a bot administers as part of a larger workflow.
Three routes to the same 21 actions. The Workflow tab is generated from Telegram's own manifest and carries its real ids, so it is copy-pasteable; the Code and CLI examples are the same call for any action on any app, so every app-specific value in them is a blank you fill in.
callback-answer-query Acknowledge an inline-keyboard button press, optionally showing a toast or alert.
chat-get Fetch up-to-date information about a chat: title, description, photo, permissions.
chat-get-administrators List the administrators of a chat. Returns every admin except other bots; in a channel with anonymous admins only the creator is returned.
chat-get-member Get one member's status and rights in a chat. Useful for gating a workflow on membership.
chat-set-description Change a chat's description. Requires the `can_change_info` admin right. Send an empty value to clear it.
chat-set-title Rename a group, supergroup or channel. Requires the `can_change_info` admin right.
file-get Resolve a Telegram `file_id` into its size and `file_path`. Links stay valid for at least an hour.
message-delete Delete a message. Bots can delete their own messages, and any message in a group where they are an administrator.
message-send-chat-action Show a status indicator ('typing…', 'sending photo…') in a chat.
message-unpin Unpin a message. Omit the message ID to unpin the most recently pinned message.
A workflow step names the app and the action, and the editor fills in the
connection when you pick one. This is the Step shape from the
workflow spec, carrying Telegram's real ids.

Every app-specific value here is a blank you have to fill in. An
app action is reached through the connection that authenticates it, so the
address is a connection id, not the app id — and connections belong to your account,
so a public page cannot know yours. Create one for Telegram, then fill in
the three blanks: conn_YOUR_CONNECTION_ID, the action key, and the
parameters that action declares. The call itself is real — the shape is transcribed
from the studio's own snippet builder, which prints the same kind of blanks — but
nothing in it is specific to Telegram. The Workflow tab is where this app's
real ids are.

Every tool names its target with a single ref. The
app: form above doesn't name a connection at all — the
host resolves which of the caller's Telegram connections to sign
with, and refuses rather than guesses when the answer is ambiguous.
The token is attached host-side, at the moment of the call. It is never a tool argument, never in the model's context, and never in a transcript — so a prompt injection has nothing to exfiltrate.
Tools are derived per end user from what that person has actually connected and is entitled to — not one shared bot identity carrying the union of everyone's access.
Multi-step work runs on the workflow engine and returns a run handle the agent can poll — retries, branching and state survive the conversation that started them.
Telegram's declared health checks are on the surface too, so an agent can tell "the vendor is down" from "your credential expired" before it burns a retry on either.
The MCP surface is part of the hosted platform. Telegram itself is MIT, and the runtime that executes it is source-available (FSL).
Telegram declares its own checks, so its health is a property of the app rather than something the host guesses at.
