Overview

Patreon is a membership platform creators use to run a recurring-revenue business around their audience: tiers, patrons (members), posts and livestreams, all attached to one or more campaigns.

This app reads a campaign’s own data — its tiers and goals, the members currently pledging or following it, and the posts published to it — and looks up a single member or post by id when a workflow already has one from elsewhere (a webhook delivery, a prior list call). It also manages the webhooks Patreon can push events through (new/updated/deleted members, pledge changes, post publish/update/delete), so a workflow can react to patron activity in near real time instead of polling.

Two connection paths are supported: OAuth for a multi-creator integrator building a public product, and a Creator’s Access Token for a workflow that only ever needs to manage the one campaign that minted it — no OAuth Client registration or browser redirect required.

Build with Patreon

Three routes to the same 11 actions. The Workflow tab is generated from Patreon's own manifest and carries its real ids, so it is copy-pasteable; the Code and CLI examples are the same call for any action on any app, so every app-specific value in them is a blank you fill in.

Create Webhook

create-webhook

Create a webhook on a campaign (POST /webhooks). Requires the `w:campaigns.webhook` scope. Patreon returns a `secret` in the response used to HMAC-sign (MD5) delivered payloads via the `X-Patreon-Signature` header — store it to verify deliveries.

Delete Webhook

delete-webhook

Delete a webhook (DELETE /webhooks/{id}). Requires the `w:campaigns.webhook` scope.

Get Campaign

get-campaign

Fetch a single campaign by ID (GET /campaigns/{campaign_id}). Requires the `campaigns` scope.

Get Identity

get-identity

Fetch the current OAuth user (GET /identity). Requires the `identity` scope; add `identity[email]` to receive the email attribute, `campaigns` to include the user's own campaign, and `identity.memberships` to include memberships to OTHER creators' campaigns (without it, `memberships` still returns only this campaign's membership).

Get Member

get-member

Fetch a single member by their member id (GET /members/{member_id}). Requires the `campaigns.members` scope. Make sure to use the member UUID and not the user id — they are different resources.

Get Post

get-post

Fetch a single post by ID (GET /posts/{id}). Requires the `campaigns.posts` scope.

List Campaign Members

list-campaign-members

List the members (patrons) of a campaign (GET /campaigns/{campaign_id}/members). Requires the `campaigns.members` scope; add `campaigns.members[email]` for email, `campaigns.members.address` for the address include. Max 1000 per page (500 if `pledge_history` is included). Cursor-paginated via `page[cursor]`.

List Campaign Posts

list-campaign-posts

List all posts on a campaign (GET /campaigns/{campaign_id}/posts). Requires the `campaigns.posts` scope. Cursor-paginated via `page[cursor]`.

List Campaigns

list-campaigns

List campaigns owned by the authorized user (GET /campaigns). Requires the `campaigns` scope. Cursor-paginated: pass back `cursor` from a previous call's `meta.pagination.cursors.next` to fetch the next page.

List Webhooks

list-webhooks

List the webhooks created by THIS API client on the current user's campaign (GET /webhooks). Requires the `w:campaigns.webhook` scope. Only webhooks created by the calling client are visible.

Update Webhook

update-webhook

Update a webhook created by this client (PATCH /webhooks/{id}). Requires the `w:campaigns.webhook` scope. If the webhook has unsent events queued (its `num_consecutive_times_failed` was > 0), setting `paused` to false replays them.

A workflow step names the app and the action, and the editor fills in the connection when you pick one. This is the Step shape from the workflow spec, carrying Patreon's real ids.

Every app-specific value here is a blank you have to fill in. An app action is reached through the connection that authenticates it, so the address is a connection id, not the app id — and connections belong to your account, so a public page cannot know yours. Create one for Patreon, then fill in the three blanks: conn_YOUR_CONNECTION_ID, the action key, and the parameters that action declares. The call itself is real — the shape is transcribed from the studio's own snippet builder, which prints the same kind of blanks — but nothing in it is specific to Patreon. The Workflow tab is where this app's real ids are.

Give an AI agent Patreon — without giving it Patreon's credentials. One MCP endpoint exposes every app, function and workflow the caller is entitled to, as tools it can discover and run. Access is granted per team while we onboard.

One tool call
{
  "name": "w6w_invoke",
  "arguments": {
    "ref": "app:io.w6w.patreon#create-webhook",
    "input": {
      "campaignId": "<campaignId>",
      "uri": "<uri>",
      "triggers": "<triggers>"
    }
  }
}

Every tool names its target with a single ref. The app: form above doesn't name a connection at all — the host resolves which of the caller's Patreon connections to sign with, and refuses rather than guesses when the answer is ambiguous.

What the agent gets

Credentials it can't read

The token is attached host-side, at the moment of the call. It is never a tool argument, never in the model's context, and never in a transcript — so a prompt injection has nothing to exfiltrate.

A tool surface scoped to the caller

Tools are derived per end user from what that person has actually connected and is entitled to — not one shared bot identity carrying the union of everyone's access.

A durable workflow in one call

Multi-step work runs on the workflow engine and returns a run handle the agent can poll — retries, branching and state survive the conversation that started them.

Health-aware discovery

Patreon's declared health checks are on the surface too, so an agent can tell "the vendor is down" from "your credential expired" before it burns a retry on either.

The MCP surface is part of the hosted platform. Patreon itself is MIT, and the runtime that executes it is source-available (FSL).

Health checks

Patreon declares its own checks, so its health is a property of the app rather than something the host guesses at.
